Meeting with Astronaut Akihiko Hoshide at NASA JSC

On September 26, 2018, HASSE students from 10 Asian universities, invited by NASA Flight Director,
had an exclusive opportunity to visit the current International Space Station mission control
and meet with JAXA Astronaut Akihiko Hoshide at NASA’s Johnson Space Center.

Akihiko Hoshide greeted the students with a warm and encouraging message
and also answered many questions from the students.
Akihiko Hoshide’s advice for everyone is to find one’s dream and work hard for it.

Akihiko Hoshide (Hoshide Akihiko, born December 28, 1968) is a Japanese engineer and JAXA Astronaut.
On August 30, 2012, Hoshide became the third Japanese astronaut to walk in space.
Astronaut Akihiko Hoshide will be onboard the International Space Station for about six months from around May 2020
and serve as its commander during the latter part of his stay.
