HASSE students visit Center for Space Architecture (SICSA)

HASSE Space School students had an on-site-learning-experience led by Dr. Bannova,
Director of Sasakawa International Center for Space Architecture (SICSA).
Our students participated in a future space habitat development presentation,
which took part inside the SICSA. This rare and exciting opportunity truly made our visit to the SICSA extremely memorable.
The Sasakawa International Center for Space Architecture (SICSA) is a unique interdisciplinary research,
design and teaching academic center that supports the world’s only Master of Science (MS) degree in Space Architecture.

Space architecture for space exploration

Professor Olga Bannova, and Professor Larry Bell gave our group a detailed background and mission orientation of SICSA.
The establishment of the SICSA is to do research and development in the field of space architecture
and also planning and design of facilities for extreme environments on Earth.
Included are ocean facilities, polar research stations and human disaster accommodations.
Students listened to the presentation with great enthusiasm,
quite a few students expressed afterwards on how this presentation truly opened their imagination to another level.
